Onboarding a school

Provision through the product

Create the tenant through onboarding rather than by hand in the database. Provisioning does more than insert a row — it sets up the school's configuration and its notification templates.

The step that bites

A school created without provisioning gets no notification templates, and then sends nothing at all, silently. Nothing errors. The school simply reports that no email or WhatsApp ever arrives, and it looks like a delivery problem rather than a setup problem.

If a school reports "notifications never arrive", check that it was provisioned properly before investigating channels.

The first administrator

Onboarding creates the school's first administrator, who is invited by email and sets their own password. Nobody can set it for them.

Then hand over

The school does its own academic setup — years, classes, sections, staff, students. See Academics and Bulk import for what they will be doing.
