Recording behaviour — merits and demerits — and what does and does not reach the family.

A conduct record is a note about a student's behaviour: what happened, when, how serious, and what was done about it. Merits as well as demerits.
Recording one
Against the student and the date. Say what happened factually — this is read later by people who were not there.
A record is never edited in place
A correction is a new entry, not a rewrite. What was originally recorded stays. This is enforced by the system, not by policy, and it applies to everyone.
Write it as something that will be read back.
Families do not see it by default
A conduct record is not visible to guardians unless the school deliberately makes it so, per record. It does not appear on a report card.
Disclosing a child's conduct history is a decision the school makes case by case, not a side effect of writing it down.
Conduct or concern?
A conduct record is about a student's behaviour. A concern is something someone has raised that the school must answer. A bullying incident is often both, and they are linked.
