Marking attendance
Marking a register, correcting a mistake, and what families see.
Marking
Choose the section and the date, mark each student, and save. Nothing is recorded until you save.
Some schools mark per period rather than per day; if yours does, choose the period too.
Families see it
Attendance is visible to guardians once saved. An absence may generate a notification to the guardian the same day, depending on what your school has configured.
That is worth knowing before you mark a whole class absent by accident: the message goes out.
Correcting a mistake
Correct the day and save it again. The record keeps both — what was marked and what it was changed to — because an attendance record has to be reconstructable later. You are not hiding the original by correcting it, and you are not expected to.
Backdating
Whether you can mark a past date, and how far back, is your school's setting. If a date is closed to you, the office can still mark it.
