Resetting your password

How the reset link works, how long it lasts, and why requesting three does not help.

Use Forgot password on your own sign-in page. If you are not sure which page is yours, see Which portal is mine?.

What happens

A link is sent to the address the school holds for you. It is valid for one hour and works once.

Requesting another invalidates the first

Each new request replaces the previous link. If you request three and then click the first email, it will fail — use the most recent one.

This catches people out often enough to be worth stating plainly.

If no email arrives

  • Check spam and junk.
  • Confirm the school holds the address you are checking. The office can tell you; you cannot see it from outside.
  • Wait a few minutes. Mail is not instant.

Nobody can tell you your password

Not the office, not ShikshaFlow. Passwords are stored so that they cannot be read back, by anyone, ever. The only route is a reset.

After resetting

If you have two-step sign-in enabled, you still need your authenticator code. Resetting a password does not remove that step.

If you have lost the phone with your authenticator and do not have your recovery codes, an administrator has to reset it for you.
