Attendance

Seeing which days your child was marked present, absent or late.

All attendance guides →

Attendance is marked by the class teacher, day by day, and appears here once it is saved.

What you see

A record per day, showing whether your child was marked present, absent, late or on approved leave, and a running summary for the term.

Some schools mark attendance per period rather than per day. If yours does, a single day can show several marks — present in the morning, absent after lunch.

When it appears

Marks appear once the teacher saves them, which is usually the same morning but is not instant. A day that is blank has not been marked yet, and is not the same as an absence.

If something looks wrong

Attendance is a record, so it is corrected rather than overwritten — the school amends the day and the change is kept. Contact the class teacher or the office with the date. They can see who marked it and when.

Do not assume an error: a child marked absent may have arrived after the register closed, which some schools record as absent and correct later.

Approved leave

Leave your school has approved shows separately from an unexplained absence. If you told the school in advance and it still shows as a plain absence, ask the office — the approval may not have been recorded against the day.
