Co-curricular
Activities, squads, fixtures and results — the record two of the report cards read from.

Activities, squads, and meets with results. This is not a scrapbook: two of the four report types read from it, so what is recorded here appears on a child's report.
Squads are the roster
An activity is the thing; a squad is who is in it, for a season. Keeping squads current is what makes participation reportable — a child who left the team in July should not appear on a December report as a member.
Results, not just fixtures
A fixture with no result is an event that may as well not have happened as far as the record goes. Enter results while the meet is fresh; a house match reconstructed in March is somebody's memory.
It feeds the report card
Because this is a reporting source, an empty activity record produces a thin report for a child who was in fact busy all year. If your school runs houses, inter-house events are usually the largest missing piece.
Not attendance
Being in a squad is not the same as being present at a session. This records participation and achievement, not daily attendance — that stays in Attendance.
